UPDATE: Indiana State Police is investigating after a police chase ended in a deadly officer-involved shooting.

Officials say the incident started at 1:30 p.m. in White County. An officer in Monon reportedly responded to a disturbance at a VanGuard facility. The officer reportedly saw a Chevrolet Colorado allegedly connected to the incident and attempted to stop it.

ISP officials say the pursuit traveled northeast into Pulaski County. Officers reportedly used a tire deflation device as the truck was traveling eastbound on State Road 14; officials say the device hit the truck, but the suspect continued driving on State Road 14 into Winamac.

The pursuit reportedly stopped at the intersection of Monticello Street and 15th Street. The driver allegedly exited the truck with a gun. Officials say that both the suspect and an officer are believed to have fired shots.

The driver was taken to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing.

According to a post from the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, an incident happened on US 35 in front of Winamac Plaza.
