LAKEVILLE, Ind. – Newton Park is hosting a free trunk or treat on October 28 for kids with food allergies and medically fragile conditions.

The event is a partnership with The Teal Pumpkin Project to make the event food allergy safe and create awareness for families with children who live with food allergies.

Newton Park is also supporting A Rosie Place by giving families with medically fragile children the chance to enter the trunk or treat at 4:30 p.m., before all other attendees.

If your child is not with A Rosie Place but plans to come early, please email [email protected].

Forty trunk hosts will pass out treats at the event, including hosts from Chick-fil-A, St. Joseph County 4H, Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana, and more.

The event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at the park.

Kids can also participate in a Candy Graveyard Grab, featuring 10,000 goody-filled Halloween skulls, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

If you would like to provide a trunk and candy/nonfood items, it’s free to host and volunteers can click here to sign up.

Visit Newton Park’s Facebook page for up-to-date information on the event.
