Next phase of Ireland and Ironwood intersection construction starts Friday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced the next phase of construction on at the intersection of Ireland Road and Ironwood Drive will begin Friday.
This next face is set to focus on the center lanes of Ironwood Drive, including the intersection.
Due to construction, city officials say left turns will be prohibited from all directions at the intersection.
Eastbound and westbound traffic won't be able to pass through the intersection either.
Drivers on Ireland Road will only be allowed to turn right onto Ironwood Drive, while drivers on Ironwood Drive can continue straight or turn right.
Westbound traffic will detour north on Ironwood Drive, west on Lincolnway East, then south on Miami Street before rejoining Ireland Road.
Eastbound traffic will detour south on Ironwood Drive, and east on the U.S. 20 Bypass to the Bremen Highway Exit.
The city provided the map below for further clarification.
City officials say access to all businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained during work.
The improvement project includes a full reconstruction of the pavement, curb realignment and upgraded traffic signals.
City officials say the work has been divided into six phases, with each phase taking up to 21 days to complete, weather permitting.
The project is expected to be complete by early July, weather permitting.
