CANTON, Ohio --- Pressure has been mounting on the National Football League to address its policies on players who commit domestic violence.
Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, held an impromptu press conference Friday to address the two game suspension of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for allegedly assaulting his wife.
Rice was seen on video hitting his then-fiance and dragging her unconscious body from an elevator.
"And I think you heard from him yesterday, this is a young man who really understands the mistake he made, and he's out and determined to make a positive difference," said Goodell.
Rice spoke out for the first time Thursday since he was suspended.
