Niles man catches whale of a catfish

NILES, Mich. -- A Niles man shattered a 69-year-old record when he reeled in a fish on the St. Joseph River.
Rodney Akey caught a 49.8-pound catfish last month.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources confirmed the record.
Akey has been fishing in the river for 20 years and always dreamed nabbing the big one.
He also said that he never thought he'd catch a state record.
