Niles restaurant showcases student dishes

NILES, Mich. -- Some lucky Niles students are taking their cuisine from the classroom to the paying customer.

ABC57 stopped by the Olfactory Hue Bistro in Niles Wednesday where special dishes will be created by Niles students from New Tech Elementary.

The restaurant plans on serving up the students' creations for a week in November.

"I just think it's really important for these students to have the skills to be able to take a recipe and make it their own. Be able to execute it so well and then be proud of that," said Bistro owner Daysha Amster.

If you would like to stop by and sample some of the student cuisine, the Bistro is open Monday through Saturdays from 10:30 to 3 and the student dishes will be on the menu from November 11th through the 16th.
