Niles students "stuff a bus" to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

NILES, Mich.-- Dozens of students "stuffed a bus" on Friday.

The students spent the morning at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, packing items for the Niles Food Pantry.

The kids said that it was for Black History Month and a way to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy.

The church hopes that everyone learned a valuable lesson, that will stay with them.

Bryant Bacon, with the church said "I think that they get a better awareness of what is going on around them.A lot of times when you are younger you don't pay bills, you don't really know what's going on.When you see certain things and get involved in it, you see actually the efforts that you are doing are making a difference.  "

The church hopes to have more events like this throughout the year.
