NL Masterpiece: AL pummeled in MLB All-Star Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National League is on a winning streak in the MLB All-Star Game.

The NL shutout the American League 8-0 Tuesday night, at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. San Francisco Giants' outfielder Melky Cabrera scored MVP honors.

Forty-year-old Atlanta Braves' third baseman Chipper Jones singled in his final All-Star at-bat and Tony La Russa came out of retirement to manage his last All-Star game.

The NL had gone 13 years without beating the AL. They’ve now won three in a row for the first time since 1994-96.

With the victory, the NL once again claimed home-field advantage in the World Series
