NOAA predicts more severe hurricane season

We should expect more serious storms than previously predicted this hurricane season.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said there could be between 12 and 17 named storms.

In May, they predicted nine to 15 named storms.

The agency also said five to eight of them will become major hurricanes.

Two to three of those could be major hurricanes.

So far this season, there have been six named storms.

Chris and Ernesto became hurricanes.

Ernesto is currently a tropical storm, traversing across Mexico.
