Nominations for Teacher of the Year
Who's your favorite teacher? Does she make math a snap? Does he make ugly insects cool? We want you to tell us! To honor those teachers who make a difference every day for the children in our schools we're asking you to nominate them for Teacher of the Year! One teacher will be honored each month with a certificate and prize leading up the announcement of the Teacher of the Year at a luncheon and award ceremony in May. We'll post all of this school year's nominees right here so check back to see if your teacher was nominated! Teacher of the Year is presented by ABC57 News, CW25, and Sunny 101.5, with Martin's Super Markets. (Children under 13, please ask a parent to submit your nomination.)
Contest Rules
Nominations for Teacher of the Year 2012-2013 will be accepted between October 16, 2012 and May 5, 2013.
How to Nominate: To nominate a teacher for Teacher of the Year, visit www.Sunny1015.com or www.ABC57.com and fill out and submit the official entry form.
Eligibility: No purchase necessary. Open to legal residents of the United States, at least 13 years of age. Teachers of private or public schools from pre-school through college are eligible. Employees of WSBT Inc., WBND, WBND-LP,WCWW, Martin’s Super Markets, and members of their immediate families are not eligible to win. Immediate family includes: spouse, domestic partner, child, parent, sister, brother, stepparent, stepchild, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, stepbrother, stepsister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.
Winner: Each month, one nomination will be chosen from all nominations received that best answers the statement “why my teacher, or my child’s teacher, deserves to be teacher of the year” in the opinion of designated representatives of WSBT, Inc. and WBND, WBND-LP & WCWW. A total of eight nominees will be chosen (October 2012 – May 2013) by a panel of judges representing sponsor parties WSBT, Inc. and WBND, WBND-LP & WCWW. All nominees will be invited to a luncheon on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Martin’s Super Market at Heritage Square in Granger, IN (Date, time and location are subject to change). During this luncheon, the Teacher of the Year will be announced. Teacher of the Year winner will be chosen from the eight nominations based on the best answer to the statement “why my teacher, or my child’s teacher, deserves to be teacher of the year” in the opinion of designated representatives of WSBT, Inc., WBND, WBND-LP & WCWW. The winner “Teacher of the Year” grants WSBT Radio, WBND, WBND-LP,WCWW, Martin’s Super Markets, and their agencies the right to publish the winner's name, city and state, and use the winner's name/likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation worldwide and in perpetuity in any and all forms of media, unless prohibited by law.
Prize: All nominees will win a $50 Gift Card to Martin’s Super Markets, and a small award. The Teacher of the Year will be recognized with an award. Nominee prize value not to exceed $250. Teacher of the Year prize value not to exceed $300. Odds of winning a nomination depends on number of entries received. Odds of winning Teacher of the Year are one in eight. WSBT Radio, WBND, WBND-LP,WCWW, Martin’s Super Market reserve the right to substitute a prize should named prizes become unavailable.
General Conditions: All national, state and local laws and regulations are applicable. All taxes (including income tax) are the sole responsibility of the winner. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this contest will be ineligible for prizes and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Multiple entries entered by other than human means such as conference calling, computerization or other mechanical means to play are ineligible. Void where prohibited.
