Non-essential personal care stores ordered to close in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. – Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed Executive Order 2020-20 on March 21, which says that all stores that provide non-essential personal care services must temporarily close. These types of services include hair, nail, tanning massage, spa, tattoo, body art and piercing, as well as any other similar service requiring close body contact.

These changes go into effect from March 22 at 9 a.m. through April 13 at 11:59 p.m.

This order does not apply to services necessary for medical treatment, to be determined by a licensed medical provider.
