North Liberty barn fire damages several tractors and home, no injuries

Firefighters in Liberty Township are trying to determine the cause of a fire at a barn Monday afternoon.

At least five agencies worked together to put out the flames.

According to the homeowner, he was working inside the barn and walked into his home to get a cup of coffee, and seconds later, he saw the flames.

Liberty Township Fire Chief Bryan Albright says Monday's winter weather made fighting the fire even more of a challenge.

“The roads are terrible. And it makes for quite a challenge with the trucks on the road.”

The family was not injured, but the homeowner says several expensive tractors were damaged.

Part of the home was damaged part of their home as well.
