Northern Indiana Food Bank asks businesses to 'go orange'

You've heard of going green, but this month Michiana is going orange!

It's all to help spread the word about hunger.

More than 18-percent of Hoosiers in northern Indiana don't know where their next meal is coming from.

Local businesses and organizations are being asked to display an orange ribbon to help stamp out hunger!

"Orange is the color of hunger. Hunger is real here in northern Indiana. 18.4-percent of the population here does not know where their next meal is coming from, so almost 20-percent of the population is going hungry. Hunger is very real,” said Marijo Martinec of the Northern Indiana Food Bank.

Demand on the Food Bank of Northern Indiana is up 57-percent from last year!
