Nose surgeon facing health care fraud set to have trial in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- At one point, he was one of America’s Most Wanted, and now he'll be heading to South Bend for his trial.

Dr. Mark Weinberger was on the run for more than five years trying to dodge 22 counts of health care fraud. At first, his trial was going to be in Hammond, but a U.S. district judge said potential jurors could be biased because of prior media coverage.

Prosecutors say the nose surgeon filed insurance claims for procedures he never really performed at his Merrillville clinic.
