Notre Dame alum talks about life from space

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION -- The Irish may be headed to South Beach but one of their own is in space.

Kevin Ford is on the International Space Station.

The Indiana native and Notre Dame grad left for the mission in late October.

Ford did a live interview from the ISS on Thursday and talked about this time aboard the space station.

"Whenever you fly over anything--the Amazon, the Rocky Mountains, the Northeast, whatever it is, just to see the beautiful things out there," Ford said. "I saw a typhoon the other day. It's just amazing to see the Earth in its glory."

Ford is also blogging during his five month trip in space. You can read his blog here.
