Notre Dame community mourns death of student
A junior at the University of Notre Dame passed away at her on campus residence Wednesday, according to university President Rev. John I. Jenkins, CSC.
Theresa Sagartz, 21, of Albuquerque, was found on Wednesday.
According to Chief Deputy Coroner Chuck Hurley of the St. Joseph County Coroner's Office, foul play is not suspected.
The autopsy is not complete, but Hurley believes her death is related to her medical history.
The university says Sagartz is a third generation Notre Dame student.
“As a community, we grieve for Theresa and extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends,” Father Jenkins said. “My prayers are with them.”
After spring break, the university will hold a Mass in Theresa's memory.
University members can go to the University Counseling Center and Campus Ministry for support.
