Notre Dame Football begins practice for upcoming season

The Notre Dame football team begins practice today for the upcoming football season.

Expectations are high for the team this year with several returning starters on both defense and offense.

They also have a new quarterback who transferred from Wake Forest where he set several records.

Sam Hartman gives the Irish hope that their offense will be able to score a lot and compete with teams like Ohio State, USC, and Clemson, teams that are on their schedule in 2023.

Coach Marcus Freeman now has a year under his belt, after a somewhat disappointing first year in which then team went 9-4 but finished strong with a bowl game win over South Carolina.

ABC57 will have complete coverage of today's first day of practice, including Marcus Freeman's news conference, beginning at 5 tonight.
