Notre Dame hockey began its final weekend series of a season-opening home stand. The Irish hosted Nebraska-Omaha for Game 1 of the series, but found themselves in a big hole.
After falling behind 5-1, the Irish climbed back within one but could not find the game-tying goal.
It's the third loss in four games for Notre Dame. They will play Game 2 against the Mavericks on Friday, then begin Big Ten play next weekend at Ohio State.
