Notre Dame hockey wins against Michigan

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Irish basketball team wasn't the only one celebrating because the hockey team also swept their rival Michigan.

At Friday's White Out game, the Irish flew past the Wolverines beating them 7 to 4. At their game on Saturday night, it was almost a repeat as Notre Dame captured another victory with a score of 6 to 4.

Coach Jeff Jackson said it was no easy feat, and the fight to the playoffs continues next weekend.

"We need to get every point we can. It's really important to us," said Jackson.

The Irish will take on Miami of Ohio next weekend with the special Outdoor Winter Classic Game on Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago.
