’Holy War’ matchup off the field in annual Hunger Bowl
PITTSBURGH, Pa.— Going into their last regular season game, the Notre Dame men’s basketball team was looking to break their six game losing streak Saturday.
The Irish, who have not won a game since December 29th, 2018, failed to beat Pittsburgh.
In spite of the Irish putting up a strong fight, the final score was 56 to 53.
“I’m walking out of here feeling a little bit better. We’ve lost, we’ve had a tough stretch. But after Nate missed that free throw and was devastated, to come back and play like that tells you a little bit about this kid…. I’m very proud of Nate and hopes he plays that way as much as we have left,” said Mike Brey, Notre Dame Men’s Basketball Head Coach.
The men’s team will enter the ACC tournament as the 15th seed.
