SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Notre Dame men's basketball completed the opening week of its season Thursday with a 89-62 win over Chicago State at Purcell Pavilion.
The Irish jumped out to an 18-point lead, but allowed the Cougars to tie the game late in the first half. Notre Dame would use a big run early in the second half to pull away for good, led by a career-high 15 points from Elijah Burns.
Freshman Nate Laszewski added 12, while DJ Harvey and TJ Gibbs scored 11 and 10 apiece.
