Notre Dame Police Department warning about scam

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- According to a tweet from the University of Notre Dame Police Department, scammers are manipulating caller ID  in an attempt to appear as officials from the department in order to manipulate potential victims.

The department says they’ve received multiple reports regarding scammers using a number similar to a NDPD or a general Notre Dame number.

The scammers will address the victim by name, asking for immediate payment in order to avoid arrest.

As a reminder, the department says NDPD will never demand money.

Questions or concerns can be directed to the police department at 574-631-5555.
