Notre Dame Press 'Book Festival' happening on Notre Dame campus

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Notre Dame Press will host their annual "Book Festival and Dirty Book Sale" on Notre Dame’s campus as part of University Press Week on November 14 and 15.

This year, the festival will include deals both in person and on ND Press' website, several book events, and giveaways.

The event will be at Hesburgh Library Main Concourse for the on-campus events and sale on November 14 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition to the sale, there will be three events that are free and open to the public.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14:

POESÍA EN DIÁLOGO:  Latinx Poetry with Victoria María Castells, Darrel Alejandro Holnes, Sheryl Luna, and Vickie Vértiz

5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hesburgh Library Scholars Lounge and Zoom

This virtual event features the Notre Dame Press authors and poets reading and discussing their work.

Laura Villareal, Letras Latinas Associate, will act as moderators. Registration is free. Register HERE.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15:

HOW TO JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER: Covers, layout, and design with Notre Dame Press staff.

2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hesburgh Library Scholars Lounge

This is an in-person event demonstrating the best practices in book cover design. Notre Dame Press staffers Wendy McMillen and Michelle Sybert will present.

The event is ideal for future authors, designers, marketing professionals and anyone who wants to learn more about book publishing.

LOVE THEE NOTRE DAME: The History of Notre Dame University with Rev. Thomas Blantz, C.S.C. and Rev. Edward A. Malloy, C.S.C.

November 15, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hesburgh Library Scholars Lounge

This in-person event features Notre Dame Press authors Fr. Thomas Blantz and Fr. Monk Malloy speaking about their years at Notre Dame.

Kathleen Sprows Cummings, a Rev. John A. O'Brien Collegiate Professor of American Studies and History, is the moderator for the discussion.
