NOW: Notre Dame ranks on preseason AP Top 25 Poll

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—The University of Notre Dame came in at number nine in the preseason AP Top 25 Poll.

The rankings, released on Monday, come just two weeks ahead of the start of the 2019 regular football season.

The Irish will remain in the Top 10 until they take on the Cardinals on Labor Day in Louisville.

As for the latest on injuries, Notre Dame is currently without the services of tight end Cole Kmet, who will be out for between four and 10 weeks following a broken collar bone.

Wide receiver Michael Young sustained the same injury on Saturday while going up for a jump ball, which will also leave him on the sidelines for anywhere from four to 10 weeks.

Local stand-out Paul Moala recently had surgery on this thumb.
