Notre Dame selling sections of grass from stadium

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Notre Dame is selling off sections of the grass from Notre Dame Stadium for $149.95.

In April, it was announced that the grass would be replaced with artificial turf for the 2014 football season.

The athletics department says in response to fans who had feelings about the sentimental value of the grass, they decided to offer it up for sale.

Fans can purchase 2' by 5' sections of the grass, which can be replanted. The online sale will end at noon on Wednesday.

The grass is being removed Tuesday and will be shipped on Wednesday.

Each section is $149.9, which includes two day shipping and a certificate of authenticity.
