Notre Dame student in critical condition after early morning fall

NOTRE DAME, Ind.—A Notre Dame student is in the hospital after falling in the interior stairwell of a dorm early Sunday morning.

The 18-year-old student suffered a serious head injury when he fell around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, says University Spokesman Dennis K. Brown.

The student was transported from Sorin Hall to Memorial Hospital by the South Bend Fire Department, where he remains in critical condition.

Notre Dame Police are investigating the cause of the fall.
