Notre Dame student sexually assaulted off campus

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -
South Bend Police are investigating the rape of a 19-year-old Notre Dame student.
The student said she attended a house party in the 100 block of St. Peter Street in South Bend, last Wednesday.
Police said the assault took place late Wednesday into early Thursday morning.
Neighbors in the area said the area is known for its parties, so it is sad to hear this happened and surprising.
The victim told police she did not know the man who assaulted her.
This is an active investigation led by St. Joseph County’s Special Victims Unit.
