Notre Dame vs Boston College: November 23, 2019

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame game against the Boston College Eagles is underway as the last home game of the season, marking a very important night for Notre Dame players.

With many impressive plays from last week’s game, the Irish go into tonight strong, but many of them will go out onto the field for the last time.

28 players will participate in Senior Day, including wide receiver Chase Claypool and running back Tony Jones who have been crucial to Notre Dame this season.

The 15th ranked Irish are 8-2 against the Eagles who are an even 5-5 this season, facing an unranked opponent as they strive for their third ten-win season in a row.

Notre Dame scores early in the First Quarter with a 47-yard field goal from Jonathan Doerer. Irish are up 3-0. 

Doerer scores another 29-yard field goal at the top of the Second Quarter. Irish still lead 6-0. 

Boston College scores a touchdown with a single yard run from QB Dennis Grosel. The Eagles are ahead 6-7. 

Notre Dame quickly catches up with a 6-yard pass from Ian Book to Chase Claypool. Irish lead 13-7. 

Jonathan Doerer scores a 41-yard field goal for the Irish at the very last second of the first half. Notre Dame is up 16-7. 

Doerer continues to push Notre Dame ahead with another 37-yard field goal in the Third Quarter. Irish still lead 19-7. 

The Irish score with an 11-yard pass from Book to Chase Claypool. Irish are up 26-7. 

Notre Dame gains a TD from Braden Lenzy with an outstanding 61-yard run. The Irish still lead 33-7. 

Ian Book passes 6-yards to Chris Finke to score in the Fourth Quarter. Notre Dame is up 40-7. 

Notre Dame wins the game 40-7, leaving them at 9-2. The Irish now have one final game left in their 2019 season and a strong chance of ending with another ten-win season.
