Notre Dame vs Pitt: The Irish stay undefeated

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame faced off against Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon. 

The Fighting Irish were going into their seventh game of the season undefeated and the crowd was excited to cheer them on.

First Quarter 

Notre Dame's Ian Book took a sack early in the game and then fumbles the ball. 

With less than two minutes in the first quarter, Pittsburgh found their footing and got a 9-yard touch down from their running back Qadree Ollison. 

Pittsburgh led with 7 points. 

Notre Dame failed to get on the board for the first quarter. 

The score was 0 - 7, Pittsburgh. 

Second Quarter

A punt by Notre Dame's Tyler Newsome stretched 48-yards at the start of the second quarter.

Notre Dame struggled to figure out Pittsburgh's defense.

With just under 5 minutes left in the second quarter, Notre Dame's Justin Yoon makes a 22-yard field goal. 

The score was 7 - 3, Pittsburgh. 

Yoon once again showed up for the Irish, making a 41-yard field goal. 

The score was 7 - 6 in favor of Pittsburgh as they went into halftime. 

Third Quarter

Pittburgh led the third quarter with momentum. 

Their own Maurice Ffrench had a 99-yard kick return and a touch down. 

Pittsburgh moved up to 14 points. 

Ian book found Chase Claypool for a 16-yard Irish touchdown. 

The score at the end of the third quarter was 14 - 12, Pittsburgh. 

Fourth Quarter

Both teams fight hard for the first part of the fourth. 

Book found Miles Boykin for a 35-yard touch down. 

Yoon's field goal is good and the Irish take the lead, 14 - 19. 

The Irish hold on to to stay undefeated. 

The final score Pittsburgh 14, Notre Dame 19.

Notre Dame is 7 -0 and will be off next week.
