Notre Dame vs Virginia: September 28, 2019

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame game against Virginia has begun as they attempt to come back from a tough loss last week against Georgia.

The Fighting Irish are as ready as ever to go home with a win against Virginia after a 6 point loss to the Bulldogs last week.

The Irish are still ranked 10th as they go against the 18th-ranked Cavaliers, but Virginia is undefeated 4-0 as they walk into Notre Dame Stadium Saturday.

Scoring Updates/Final Score:

Virginia starts the game off with a successful pass from Quarterback Bryce Perkins to Joe Reed for a 6-yard touchdown. Cavaliers lead 0-7. 

The Irish come back with a 5-yard run from Tony Jones Jr. Notre Dame ties it up 7-7. 

Notre Dame scores again at the end of the First Quarter with an impressive 11-yard run from C'Bo Flemister. Irish lead 14-7. 

In the Second Quarter Brian Delaney scores a 32-yard field goal for Virginia. Irish still lead 14-10. 

Virginia's Bryce Perkins throws a 16-yard pass to Hasise Dubois for a touchdown. Cavaliers lead 14-17. 

Notre Dame takes the lead again with a 2-yard run from Tony Jones Jr. in the second half. Irish are up 21-17. 

The Irish refuse to back down with a recovery and 23-yard return by Adetokunbo Ogundeji after Virginia's Bryce Perkins fumbles. Irish still lead 28-17. 

Notre Dame scores with an unbelievable 30-yard run from Tony Jones Jr. in the Fourth Quarter. Irish continue to lead 35-17. 

The Cavaliers take a 27-yard field goal in the middle of the Fourth Quarter. Irish still lead 35-20. 

Notre Dame wins the game against Virginia with a final score of 35-20. The Irish are now 3-1.
