Notre Dame women's basketball falls to Stanford

Notre Dame women’s basketball took on the Stanford Cardinal Friday night at Lexington for the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Women’s Championship. 

The Irish ended up falling to the Cardinal 90-84.

At the end of the first period, the Cardinal kept a close lead over the Irish 28-21.

The lead then expanded at the end of the second period with Stanford increasing the lead over Notre Dame by a score of 50-39.

Stanford advances on to the Elite Eight.
