Notre Dame women's basketball to host North Carolina A&T

It's selection Monday and the Notre Dame women’s basketball team was excited to see who will be hosting opening round tournament.

The Purcell Pavilion was the place to be when it was announced that the women’s Fighting Irish team would be hosting North Carolina A&T Saturday at 6:30 pm.

Notre Dame, who has been to the final four the last 5 years, is hoping to win their second national title.

"We love playing at home, our fan base is amazing. I'm really excited we get to play at home for our first game,” said Forward Kathryn Westbeld.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

Another exciting factor in Monday night’s event included Niele Ivey being named Assistant Coach of the Year.
