Notre Dame's Father Ted's Race kick starts education for local youth

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Helping local youth get a running start on their education, one step at a time!

Sunday, hundreds of people hit the pavement for Notre Dame's Father Ted's 5K or 10K Race.

The race took runners around the campus.

And, those who ran traveled here from all over just to help raise scholarship money for local students.

"It feels good. Actually we're from Massachusetts and we flew in to be at this race now, but it's good to support this community also," says runner, Sandy Pierce.

The run raises scholarship money for students in the Trio programs.

Trio helps low income and first generation students from the South Bend area.
