NRC: Palisades Power Plant cited for three safety violations

VAN BUREN CTY, Mich. -- A nuclear power plant in Southwest Michigan has been cited for three safety violations.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said the worst of the violations at the Palisades Power Plant stem from an incident last September.

The NRC said half of the control room indicators were lost because of an electrical problem caused by workers at the site.

The plant is now required to undergo increased safety inspections.
