Obama pushes to create manufacturing jobs

RALEIGH, N.C. -- President Obama was on the road Wednesday pushing to create more manufacturing jobs.


He announced a new private partnership made up of 18 businesses and 6 universities. They will focus on developing new energy efficient power electronics.


Over the past four years, the economy has added more than 550,000 jobs in the manufacturing sector.


"Manufacturing is a bright spot in this economy," said Obama.


Legislation to help more than a million Americans who are unemployed is currently at a stand-still on the hill.
