Officer involved shooting in Warsaw

WARSAW, Ind. – Kosciusko County dispatch confirmed an officer shot a suspect in Warsaw Wednesday evening.

According to Sgt. Bohner, Warsaw Police to a house on Michaels Street for an unwanted person just before 7:30 p.m.

Police said the suspect left the house and started walking down Lake Street. and an officer confronted the suspect. 

The officer tried to contain the suspect after a brief struggle. Which led to the officer attempting to tase and then shooting the suspect in the right arm, according to officials. 

The suspect has non-life threatening injuries and the officer was not injured. 

Police told ABC57 they arrived to the scene and transported the suspect to a local hospital. 

Indiana State Police are investigating this incident.
