Officials warn drivers, remove cars from road, red tags being issued

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are pleading for drivers to move over and make room for plow trucks.  Red tickets will be showing up on parked cars.

"We are towing them, this is not a bluff," says Captain Phil Trent, with the South Bend Police Department.

If your car has been parked on the roads for over 72 hours, police are now red tagging, to make sure your vehicle gets off the streets.

"It becomes problematic to get emergency vehicles up and down certain residential streets and gives the plow drivers fits too when a vehicle becomes buried," says Trent.
