On the River Fest kicks off this weekend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — It is time for the annual On the River Fest in downtown South Bend. Organizers say money raised at the event benefits the homeless right here in our community.

The party will go on for two days. And it is divided up for different age groups and goes toward a great cause.

Proceeds will go to benefit the Center for the Homeless.

On Friday, teen night kicks at 5 p.m. and will run until 11 p.m.

There will be live DJ's, food, bungee runs, corn-hole and a battle of the bands. There will also be hair painting and henna tattoos.

On Saturday starting at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. will be family day.

A live DJ will perform, there will also be face painting, a moon walk, big bouncy inflatables and even sand castle building.

Then the major event kicks offin the evening with the 21 and over Beach Bash event.

The event's website boats 1,500 tons of sand, palm trees, a 6-on-6 volleyball tournament, food and drinks, live music and a firework show at the end of the night.

Teen night is $10. at the gate or $8 in advance. Family day is $5 per person with kids under three free. And the beach bash is $15 at the door or $10 in advance.
