LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- La Porte County Deputies responded to the 200 block of Main Street in Wanatah for a head-on crash.

The initial on-scene investigation determined that a Mazda pickup truck, driven by 43-year-old Allyn Brown of Wanatah was traveling north on Main Street at an excessive amount of speed and left of center at the same time, a GMC pickup truck, driven by 65-year-old David Bailey of Wanatah was traveling south on Main Street.

The two pickup trucks collided head-on, the pickup driven by Bailey leaving the roadway and crashing into a residence.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. Bailey and his adult passenger were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Deputies say that alcohol is a factor in the crash. Toxicology test results are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
