Pedestrian dies in Berrien County crash

BERRIEN COUNTY -- A pedestrian died in a crash on M-139 on Saturday, the Berrien County Sheriff's Office announced.
At 10:36 p.m., 39-year-old Emily Rudman of Royalton Township was crossing M-139, south of Scottsdale Road, in her wheelchair when she was hit by a vehicle traveling south.
Before that, she was almost hit by a car driving north, reports said.
Paramedics gave her first aid, but she died from her injuries.
Th driver who is accused of hitting Rudman stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
An autopsy will be performed in Kalamazoo.
This investigation is ongoing.
