One dead, two injured in crash involving semi-truck in Michigan

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich.—One person has died after a crash in Michigan involving four people from Elkhart County, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff.

Deputies responded to a crash on January 15 around 7 p.m. at the intersection of US-131 and Riverside Drive in Constantine Township.

A pick-up truck carrying two women, ages 27 and 31, and 36-year-old man all from Elkhart turned southbound into a northbound lane on US-131 from Riverside Drive and collided with a semi-truck driven by a 64-year-old Goshen man, police said.

One of the occupants in the pick-up truck has died, police said. The two others were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The semi-truck driver was not injured in the crash.

Police are still investigating the crash but believe alcohol may have been a factor.
