One dies in crash along Veterans Parkway

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – One person has died following a two-vehicle crash along Veterans Parkway Monday afternoon, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office announced.

At 2:04 p.m., dispatch received a report of a head-on crash on the parkway east of Michigan Road.

At the scene, emergency personnel learned that a 2012 Jeep Liberty was traveling west when, for an unknown reason, it drove left of center and struck an eastbound 2016 GMC Tercel head-on, reports said.

The crash killed the driver of the Tercel, identified as 79-year-old Clifford Weldy of Bremen, according to police.

Both occupants of the Liberty were taken to the hospital for their injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
