One found dead following mobile home fire

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – One person was found dead in a mobile home fire on Saturday, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At 9:35 p.m., neighbors called 911 to report that a home was on fire and that an elderly man lived at the home.

When police arrived to the 9300 block of Old U.S. 31 Highway, they were not able to enter the home because of the flames and thick smoke.

After fire units put out the flames, investigators discovered the burnt remains of a person inside the mobile home.

This is an ongoing investigation.
