BREMEN, Ind. - Marshall County investigators say one person has been hurt in a house fire in Bremen.
The fire started just before midnight on West Shore Drive, at the Lake Of The Woods.
The fire chief says the victim was taken to a burn unit in Fort Wayne.
Investigators say the fire started in the garage and quickly spread.
A neighbor, Victor Mills, says he was getting ready to go to bed and heard screaming. He went to a window and saw flames shooting from the house. He then called 911.
“I mean the flames were intense and it was spreading quickly. I mean it started by the garage and the next thing you know it’s towards the center of the house. I mean it just moved that quick,” Mills said.
Mills says the people who live in the home recently moved there.
The state fire marshal is investigating.
Investigators have not released the victim's name.
Bremen and La Paz firefighters responded.
