One injured in hit and run crash
CASS COUNTY, Mich. — On Sunday, Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two car crash on U.S. 12 near Sunset Blvd. in Porter Township that resulted in an injury, according to Sheriff Richard J. Behnke.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:35 a.m.
An investigation revealed that an east bound vehicle was illegally passing another vehicle in a curve, forcing a west bound vehicle driven by Erick Prouty (30 years old of Bristol, IN) off the roadway.
Prouty attempted to maintain control of his truck, but was unable to do so. He exited the roadway and rolled.
Nearby witnesses helped Prouty out of his truck. The other vehicle involved in the crash did not stop.
A SEPSA Ambulance transported Prouty to the hospital, who was wearing a seat-belt during the crash.
Also assisting on scene was Porter Fire Department.
