One person accidentally shoots themselves and is sent to the hospital, police say

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Police confirmed that a call was made at 9:57 p.m. on Monday for a shooting, which officers now believe was accidental, on the 4300 block of Hickory Road that involved a 17-year-old who unintentionally shot himself in the arm.
The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries, police say.
The scene of this shooting has cleared and police say they have recovered the weapon that was fired.
