One person accused of firearm crime, narcotics trafficking
CASS COUNTY, Mich. – One person was arrested on Friday for an alleged firearm crime and narcotics trafficking after the suspect allegedly escaped from police, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported.
On August 20, deputies conducted a search warrant in the 16000 block of Stateline Road in Mason Township.
A week-long collaborative investigation with the Michigan Department of Corrections Absconder Recovery Unit found that the suspect was allegedly involved in a firearm-related crime earlier in the week, deputies said.
Results from the investigation led to deputies issuing an Absconder warrant.
During the search warrant, the suspect allegedly left the residence but was caught after a short pursuit, reports said.
While performing the search warrant on the residence, deputies located and secured evidence of the prior firearms-related crime and evidence of narcotics trafficking, according to reports.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility and lodged on the Absconder Warrant.
