One person in critical condition after vehicle, pedestrian accident

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Saturday evening and remains in critical condition, the Marshall County Police Department reported.

At 9:38 p.m. officers were called to the 14000 block of Michigan Road for reports of a body in the road.

After officers investigated, they learned that a 2012 Dodge Avenger had allegedly struck 34-year-old James Shuck, officers said.

The driver, 24-year-old Brittany Burch Jensen, allegedly left the scene and went to a nearby residence, officers said.

The resident of the home then called the police, reports said.  

Shuck was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

The driver of the Avenger is cooperating with police and has not been charged at this time, officers said.

This investigation is ongoing.
