One person injured in South Bend house fire Sunday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department says crews responded to a residential house fire around 4:34 on Sunday at where they were met with heavy fire and smoke coming from a small single-story residence in the 1800 block of Robinson Street.

Firefighters say they did have trouble opening doors sufficiently due to large amounts of debris, but there were no reports of firefighter injuries.

Responding medical crews treated one person for non-life-threatening injuries.

The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation.
