Online deals set for 2016 Cyber Monday
The holiday season is well underway as Black Friday has come and gone. Another big shopping day will continue with Cyber Monday, known as the biggest online shopping day of the year.
Online sales over the weekend are up by 20% compared to this time last year. Consumers spent $3.34 billion online during Black Friday, according to Adobe Digital Insights which tracks online retail transactions.
Part of those numbers could be because online sales started a couple days ahead of Cyber Monday.
Forbes has listed Amazon, Apple, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target as some of the best websites for online sales.
Locally, there is a Cyber Monday deal that Michiana residents may want to take part in.
The South Bend Cubs are offering their 2017 Ticket Package as part of a Cyber Monday Sale. They sold out of the Black Friday ticket package due to high demand of requests.
The package includes the following: 10 undated ticket vouchers, a South Bend Cubs adjustable hat, 4 single game parking passes, 2 Fun Zone wristbands, 4 Performance Center tokens, and $20 in Cubbie Cash. It is a $200 value, priced at $99.
With so many online purchases this time of year that means millions of packages will be delivered to consumer's homes.
That makes it the prime time for porch thieves. There are several measures that can be taken to help prevent thieves from stealing packages.
The U.S. Postal Service has an option where packages can be requested to be left in an area other than the front porch.
If FedEx is the method of delivery, users can customize their delivery through the Delivery Manager Service. Once enrolled, you can have FedEx redirect and hold packages or be able to sign for them remotely.
If your package will arrive via UPS, you can customize your delivery, similar to FedEx with the "My Choice" service.
